DJ Spen Drops An Exclusive 51st State Mix On Monologues

A bit of a different one from us today, as we thought we’d take a look at an exclusive mix DJ Spen has put together for our friends over at Monologues.

Everyone knows DJ Spen. The guy has his fingerprints all over the history of Dance music. From his early days in Baltimore in Numarx to his role as one of The Basement Boys (who he’ll be playing with at 51st State), Spen has always been at the forefront of the scene.

Since stepping out on his own, Spen has continued to work with basically all the leading lights in house music. Todd Terry, Louie Vega, and Ultra Nate, Erykah Badu, Diana Ross, and Michael Jackson; Spen’s been associated with them all. He’s hitting up 51st in August, and we can’t wait to see him in action.

In the meantime, though, he’s put together an exclusive mix for Monologues, and they were kind enough to send it our way. It’s everything you’d expect: groove, disco, soul, and house, all come together under his expert hand for an hour of pure bliss. Put simply, the mix is ridiculous – just take a look at that tracklist...
